Thanks Vick.  Am glad Jem was so supportive and understanding and gave Jack what he needed

:( poor Jack! But glad he's got the worst of it off his chest and able to sleep without medical aid. Thanks Vick!

So glad to see some improvement on Jack's part. Let's hope it continues.

Poor Jack. It's going to be a long haul for him before he gets back to something approaching normality.

Vicky I think it is the only conversation Jack and Jem could have given Jack's state on health and mind.

I am sure that speaking about Jo and shedding tears will help Jack.  The need to keep within himself may have kept him safe but it has only just allowed him to keep his mental health.  The freedom from fear will need a long time to sink into his being and allow him to heal.

Thank you Vicky.

Excellent update, and poor Jack, hoping talking will have helped unblock some of the things that are blocking him. Hope that he is able to start to heal now.

Thanks Vick.  Am glad Jack made it home safely.  I know this is terrible but am looking forward to seeing the conversation between Madge and Jack re Joey.  Madge must be going out of her mind with worry.

What wise people! Jack has been through a lot and needs peace and rest before having to face the world again.

Thanks Vicky.  I am pleased that you have got Jack safely home and that the local GP is so understanding.  Jack certainly needs time before speaking to Jem.  I would have thought by the time a letter gets to Molly and she is writing back to England then he will be fit to let others know he is alive.

So glad he's back with his parents - what a huge shock for them but a wonderful one. Shame his reunion with Jem and Madge won't be so happy...

Bless ! Poor Jack, what a way to find out about Bob. Really could see that whole journey, felt as though going along with him. Glad he is back with his family, hard as it will be to then have to restart life after such a time away. Thank you.

I'm glad the nurse said that about not giving up hope. I know Jack has had an awful time, and I know he's made himself useful where he is, but I feel he needs to be jolted out of his limbo state.

Thanks, Vick.

Glad Jack could rescue Annelie but it was the instinctive thing he would do. How awful it would have been if he had been killed, with the end of the War in sight, and by the Allies, too!

Poor Jack.  Am glad he could rescue Annelie.  I'm wondering if Jack will ever get in touch with his family or if he will disappear because it's easier in some ways to do that?

Glad he is at least thinking about getting back, he needs to be back with his family, he's hiding from Jo's death really at the moment. Well done Jack for the rescue. Very clear picture of the hotel collapsing here, could really see it. Thank you.

Jack can not help caring for others.  He is so strong and helpful in this.  i hope he lets the Red Cross contact his family soon or if not allows them to contact Jem.

I am pleased they all got out of the hotel.

Thanks Vick.  Jack must miss being a doctor and am sorry he didn't get a chance to see them before he left

Thanks Vicky.

It's very interesting seeing how different things would be without being officially able to work as a doctor. Thanks for the update :-)

Poor Jack, glad he's able to be of some help and hasn't been interned. I can understand him wanting to tell his family personally but he should at least have let them know he was alive! He could have done it through the Red Cross.

Poor Jack.  I am pleased he is safe.  It is a pity that he can not work as a doctor,  but at least he is still using his skills to help others.  I hope he can go home when France is freed and does not have to wait until VE Day.

I hope he knows about the D Day landings.

Thanks Vicky.

Thanks Vick.  I'd forgotten France was occupied by that stage so Jack would be stuck in Switzerland

Thanks Vick.  Am glad he made it safely accross.  Though I don't envy him having to break the news to Madge about Joey
